has anyone heard of a tuner they call "erkel" in long island i think hes on exit 36 from the southern state. Is he any good? He tuned my boys evo he bought from TOPLEVEL and my boy claims to be throwing down 400 to the wheels from just putting the stock evo9 turbo, reflashing the ecu, changing the intercooler and the piping and using a borache (or something like that) intake filter and cams. personally i doubt u can put down that much to the wheel on JUST that but i want to see numbers.

I doubt it, but I made 310whp on a low reading Mustang dyno on my 06 Evo with just a reflash, K & N filter and exhaust.

I dout that too, I have a friend who just put down 420hp with a gt35r on a evo, at Dynoflash in CT, but when we took it too Precision in jersey it Read 380hp, so I don't know.. My boys on 272cams, exhaust, and Tuned ecu.. So I donno.. I say take the trip to Precision and get it done ther.. Their more legit with their things even though they specialize in Subies.. Just ask for Cleo.. He's the guy to talk to..

erkel is Harry. I never knew he tuned anything. He has been playing with cars for along time.

I used to tune his dsm and I think i mildly tuned one of his old supra's (i dont remember anymore).

His board name is 4kinboost. Hes a nice guy, I have no knowledge of his tunign ability but I guess you can ask around the evo community and find out for sure. Or PM the guy...lol

Lol,,, Well I must be doing something right, or else people wouldn't be bringing my name up!!

Sorry to say, that stock turbo cars with mild bolt-ons on pump gas don't make a legit 400hp. Evo 8's typically make between 330-375hp depending on the mods and mechanical state.. Evo 9's make 340-380.

Maybe one of my more loyal guys is boasting a bit in my favor, which I appreciate-- but 400 is a bit of a stretch for a stock turbo on pump. My 35r tunes make 420-500 on pump.

I do thank Scott (awdpsi) for "showing me the ropes" on dsmlink way back in 2005. It was fun playing with that software, and some wiring issues with my 6-bolt swap. Since I've been playing with dsm's since 1996, I can clearly see that the evo is now america's best bang for the buck. I love sharing my expieriences with many of the local guys. Wheather we tune on the street or on the dyno, i push to make sure i see smiles on guys faces when they go for that first 'test drive'.

I really want to thank Toplevel for hiring me to take care of all of their customer's flashes. It's been a 'match made in heaven' for all.

Ivey's a good tuner. We've been going at each other since 1997, since we had stock turbo 1g's!!! Many races between us, lot's of war stories and a love/hate relationship that many would never understand.

He decided to make the tuning thing his life-long career, while I stayed in finance for my major source of income. I wish him the best.

I heard Ivey is locking ECU after tuning is done, and then if you want to do some further tunning with your ecu you are screwed. I was recommended to go to chevyeater , guy from LI with my evo8 for tuning.

Go see Dan the Cock at... Pruven Performance. Lol

No seriously. Pruven has never done me or any of my boys wrong. Thumbs up all the way for them!! The only problem is they are a 2 hour ride from where you are.

No its not. The Mustang still reigns supreme in that category. Tho the EVO is a close second.

The evos are the next dsm. Might as well start gathering up spare driveline and motor parts for backup...lol

Feel free to buy a mustang from 2003-2006. Invest $1,000 into it and run it at the track. Let us know what your total out of pocket expense was.

Let me know if you come close to what evo's can do with the same $ invested.

LOL..

Sure. You do realize a Terminator fits into that category right? And as I recall the stock Evo clutches can't hold dick for power so right away tack another $1k for a twin disc. $2k in a Terminator puts you well past what an EVO is capable of.

To set the record straight, that was my old blue evo. I loved that car -- had a blast with it.

You could have just gotten my number from Ceasar. I wasn't sure who told ya about me since I tuned a few cars from that area.
